Bio Information for Justina (Justy) A. Hager
Director Of Resume Preparation and Career Development Services
Justy is an expert in the areas of aviation career preparation and placement. She has been a principal consultant in the startup and operation of two successful internet businesses geared toward career development for aviation professionals, and has worked with www.AviationResumes.com since it was developed in 2003.
Justy's background also includes fourteen years' experience as an aviation career counselor at the University of North Dakota's John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences, a world-renowned collegiate aviation program. While at UND, Justy directed the aviation placement program and specialized in job search skills, job development, and general placement assistance for aviation majors and alumni. She taught workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search techniques, and worked individually with students and alumni providing career guidance, critiquing resumes and cover letters, and conducting mock interviews.
Justy managed UND's aviation internship and co-op program and developed over 300 positions annually in which students gained practical work experience while earning academic credit. She also taught Aviation Orientation, a semester-long course for freshmen focusing on career decisions in the aviation industry.
Justy facilitated the development of several "bridge" hiring programs between UND and various regional airlines, and recruited new students for UND Aerospace by attending college fairs and trade shows. She worked closely with the Student Aviation Management Association (SAMA) coordinating the annual Aerospace Conference and Career Fair, and maintained an online Job Posting web page for UND Aerospace alumni.
Justy's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Counseling, Bachelor of Science in Social Work; both from the University of North Dakota. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Justy is a member of, and has held offices in, several professional organizations. She is included in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the Midwest, and International Who's Who. In 1994, she was one of 1,000 selected nationwide to apply for a White House Fellowship.
Justy and her husband Jay, a military helicopter pilot and MD-80 pilot with American Airlines, live near Vergas, Minnesota.
